Port with almost permanent access on the west coast of Cotentin, port shelters before the passage of Raz Blanchard. A Guernsey Chart Datum of 2.5m would give about 1m at the entrance of Dielette harbour in 2010. Boats having a berth in Guernsey have a 50 % discount on the mooring fees during all the year, except June, July and August. Jersey boats have a 50% discount all the year except on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Dielette is a very pleasant marina and often has space available when Carteret is full. Only 20 mins from Carteret by car/taxi (approx Euro50) and 30 mins to Cherbourg. Dielette is the closest French marina to Guernsey. The marina staff do not come out to provide guidance but stay in their marina office. No village or town close by and so not much to do unless you have a car. There are pontoons in the harbour where you can moor if the tide is too low to get into the Marina. If the wind and / or swell is from the North West, then you can get quite a bad surge in the outer pontoons and in the marina when the tide is over the sill. It is amazing the effect it has on the boats and can be quite uncomfortable. You cannot get in the harbour at all tides as it has silted up, so beware. Also – be careful near the wall of the marina on the harbourside, there is a big sill.

The bridge is called the Lieutenant’s bridge Opening times FROM MAY TO AUGUST – Every day – 8:30/9:30/10:30/11:30 AM, 3:30/4:30/5:30/6:30 PM The inner marina is a magnet for visitors and was crowded with people on the busy market Wednesday evening. If you want a quieter area, then you can moor on the outer pontoon which is closer to the lock gate. It is less overlooked but can suffer from the passing trawlers and other boats that create a wash. This is particularly disturbing at night. Most boats were fine and courteous but there is always the odd boat that goes too fast. At the end of the outer pontoon, there is room for a large visiting boat which would have its stern against the end of the pontoon. This should work well and accommodate 80ft or perhaps longer boats. Do call them first if you have a boat of this size. The inner basin (through the bridge) has had more fingers fitted to it along the NW side (by all the restaurants). Many of them were empty and it seemed to me that there were no visitors in there. The visitor pontoon was busy and boats were rafted up but none were inside the basin. Might be worth checking in advance, if boats want to go through the bridge into the basin. Thanks Chad Honfleur is lovely but the mooring and facilities for visiting yachtsmen are limited. The marina office is very helpful but not a very convenient location. There is room for around 8 boats in the outer pontoons and they can only accommodate a few boats in the old marina without rafting up. The facilities reflect the same, 1 block with 2 toilets and 2 showers for the inner and outer marinas cannot accommodate many people. We would have liked to have tried the old inner marina but the 2 boats were poorly moored and so took up all the room. There is potential for a central pontoon in the old marinas but no plans. The approaches to Honfleur is not covered in this page other than please do your research as you should go the wrong side of the red buoys going up the channel in order to keep clear of the larger vessels (apart from red buoy 6). You need to pass through outer lock gates to enter the port. These may be open for free flow or closed for lock access. The outer pontoon is then accessed easily, whereas the inner old harbour has a swing bridge which only opens occasionally. The marina office is near the old harbour and the facilities are near the outer pontoon.

THE MORNY BASIN , IN THE HEART OF DEAUVILLE It is the historic port basin of Deauville. It bears the name of the founder of the city, the Duke of Morny, and is ideally located a stone's throw from the city center, at the entrance to the city and opposite the train station: it has major advantages including that of benefiting from all the attentions. Covid-19 / Measures from Friday, October 30: nautical and recreational activities are not authorized. Doors and footbridge, new pontoons, new rings, water and electricity terminals ... The City of Deauville has undertaken the renovation of its port facilities for several years and more generally the rehabilitation of the entire maritime district known as La Peninsula. The Municipal port is located 300 meters from Place Morny. It is made up of two basins: the Morny Basin and the Yachts Basin. Almost 400 boats are stationed there year round, 60 visitors can moor there. On the town side, the basin is bordered by the Deauville Yacht Club and the sailing school, the docking area and the port services. Created in 1928, the Deauville Yacht Club (DYC) organizes more than 15 regattas each year, including Cowes-Deauville, the Open International de Dragon and the Laser Championship. With its 250 members, it is the first club in Lower Normandy by the number of licensees. Its vocation is the practice of sailing in all its forms. Its sailing school, labeled Ecole Française de Voile, introduces all audiences to navigation, particularly school children. Soon, benefiting from the work of reclaiming the peninsula, a new building will house the DYC offices on the Quai de l'Impératrice Eugénie.
