Our recommendation is to use Starlink for high speed internet access, but use the low powered Iridium GO! exec 24/7 on the $70/Month plan for GPS tracking, AI Polars, and Anchor Alert connectivity.
Why? Starlink requires too much power for the average yacht, as it uses more than the average fridge/freezer combined. Services such as GPS tracking require Starlink to be switched on 24hrs a day, which will lead to high power usage.
The GO! exec is also an excellent backup and essential safety communication device, giving you peace of mind when heading offshore. Bing portable, the unit can be used in a life raft, with full voice capability, and an SOS button to keep you safe, anywhere in the world.
