The reception is provided by two municipal agents who provide all the information to the Harbor master's office. Sanitary showers and toilets, as well as a dishwasher are available to boaters. Many shops and other services are easily accessible from the port. In summer, the beach, the countryside, the hikes are the many activities that make the stopover very pleasant. It should be noted that the geographical position of Grandcamp-Maisy favors the visit of all the places of the landing of the Allies in Normandy. The nearby Pointe du Hoc is a major structure forming part of the Atlantic Wall. The entrance to the port is particularly easy with all the land winds but more delicate with north west to north east breezes. Approaching at night is possible thanks to the two white scintillating directional lights of La Maresquerie and Le Perré, aligned at 146 °. A fish market is very successful, it is stocked with beautiful fresh fish, crustaceans and other shells which delight tourists and holidaymakers. Fishing for the bouquet de Grandcamp is authorized on the coast from July 1 until February 28, 2018. Despite the decrease in fishing activity, Grandcamp-Maisy remains the essential port for the scallop. The restaurants are very famous and attract a lot of people. For several years, every first weekend of December has been organized the feast of the Coquille Saint Jacques where visitors can taste and buy this noble product and enjoy the various stands. For those who know the sea and the atmosphere of the ports, Grandcamp-Maisy undoubtedly remains the simplest and most welcoming shelter on the Normandy coast.
