Tidal Flow & Currents Location: Marina Breskens is located on the southern bank of the Westerschelde estuary, near the mouth of the North Sea. Tidal Range: Approximately 4.0 to 4.5 meters (spring tides) Tidal Type: Semi-diurnal (two high and two low tides per day) Current Speed: Flood (incoming tide): 2–3 knots Ebb (outgoing tide): 3–4.5 knots Flow Direction: Flood flows eastward into the estuary Ebb flows westward toward the North Sea Important: Strong cross-currents can occur at the marina entrance, especially during peak ebb. Entry Timing Advice Ideal time to enter/leave: Around slack water (just before or after high/low tide) Entry is possible at all states of tide, but maneuvering is much easier during slack or early flood. Avoid arrival during peak ebb if you have limited engine power or a beamier boat (catamarans, for example). Manoeuvrability in the Marina Marina Layout Entrance is just inside the main harbour (facing NW). Protective breakwaters and a well-defined channel guide you in. The marina of the "Veere" yacht club is located in the old port of the city of Veere and has 150 permanent moorings and about 50 moorings for transients. We are members of Hiswa and have flown the Blue Flag every year since 2001. The marina has capacity for approximately 270 permanent berths. In the port building, there is a water sports shop, the port office and tidy sanitary facilities for yacht owners. At the top of the port building there are 2 spacious apartments. These can be rented for recreational use. At the marina there is a large outdoor area with 3 sheds. The site and sheds are used for winter storage. Each year, space is offered here for about 270 yachts.

Oesterhaven is your culinary base. It is the first port after the Zandkreeksluis, the connection between the Veerse Meer and the Oosterschelde. There is a cosy feeling to the marina, which is affiliated with HISWA and has 153 berths. From your mooring, you can enjoy a great view and you can use our facilities. Within walking distance, there is a large water sports shop, a supermarket and three restaurants. The De Viking sailing school is located on-site. Here you can, if you wish, take a lesson or rent a sailing or motor boat.

Hengelsport en Visvereniging De Zandkreek

Vereniging de Zandkreek has existed for 60 years and is located in Wolphaartsdijk, the center of water sports in Zeeland. The association represents the interests of both angling and professional fishing on the Veerse Meer and Oosterschelde. De Zandkreek has its own marina with 350 berths. Since its foundation in April 1961, the association has a rich history. At the 50th anniversary, a beautiful historical book about the association and its origins was published, written by the former chairman Han Stroo. The book is still available through the secretariat.

W.S.V. Ellewoutsdijk

Since 1973, the local water sports association, WSVE (Ellewoutsdijk Water Sports Association) has been in charge of operating the original agricultural harbor located in South Beveland. It is maintained by a corps of volunteers/members, supported by a group of two executive board members, four board members and harbor master. The port is located almost at the southern end of the Zuid Beveland with the mudflats on the eastern side, in which the flora and fauna are protected by Natuurmonumenten. You can moor up to 2 1/2 hours before low tide and 2 1/2 hours after low tide in the port, which has a capacity of 28 permanent moorings. • Our beautiful marina is located in Middelgat, on the Western Scheldt, downstream from Hansweert. This is the former ferry port of the Hoedekenskerke - Terneuzen ferry service, which was converted by members into a small but fully equipped marina. The marina is the site of Watersportvereniging De Val. • You can moor in the new floating pontoons equipped with light and water and where your boat always remains rafted (+/- 2.0m at low tide). However, there is a sediment threshold in front of the port, so keep in mind that from +/- 3 hours before to 3 hours after low tide, it is not possible to enter or exit. This of course depends on the water levels at the time. • The port is excellently protected against the strong waves of the busy Westerschelde by a dam made of concrete blocks. •In addition to our waiting room, we have 4 motorhome pitches available with a magnificent view over the Western Scheldt and the marina. There is electricity and water, and of course you can use the sanitary facilities; toilets, sinks and showers

W.V. Saeftinghe

Paal is a tidal port near Graauw on the Western Scheldt, 6 km SE of Walsoorden. The port is located on the edge of the beautiful nature reserve 'Verdronken Land van Saeftinghe'. A well-buried ravine leads you to the port. At low tide the harbor dries up completely so it is not suitable for fin keel boats but you are always welcome to visit our clubhouse for a few hours. WV Neusen Centrum Haven

The Water Sports Association has its two headquarters on the A side channel of the Ghent to Terneuzen Canal. It has 40 moorings and an area where a maximum of 35 yachts can be moored for maintenance. The association also has access to a mast crane and sanitary facilities with toilets and showers. This location is close to the centre of Terneuzen with all the necessary shops within a very short distance. This port is a perfect base of operations for the Belgian interior. The advantage of this association port is that you, as a guest, pay a modest mooring fee, because the association can keep its costs down through the self-activity of all members. If you are thinking of visiting the port, do not hesitate to contact the harbour masters.

The WSV t' Sas marina is located on the Ghent-Terneuzen canal, close to the Belgian border. The pleasant center of Sas van Gent is within walking distance. The port consists of a northern part and a southern part that is divided by the Oostpoortweg. Along the canal you can sail south to Belgian places like Zelzate and Ghent. To the north you will find Terneuzen and the Western Scheldt. The club port has a total of about 150 berths. The depth of the port (and the entrance) is 10 meters. As a passerby, you are very welcome in one of the ports. The facilities include sanitary facilities, water and electricity on the pontoons, combi pump for oil and waste water. In addition, there is a campsite, a swimming pool nearby, as well as various dining and shopping facilities.

Dokje van Perry is a small, sheltered, historic marina located in the heart of Vlissingen, directly connected to the inner city. It is often referred to as the "city marina", due to its proximity to the old town and maritime museum. Located at Tweede Binnenhavenweg, 4382 ZH Vlissingen, Netherlands Association for Boat Fishermen Western Scheldt and surroundings The association aims to represent the interests of anglers who use their own boats to search for fish. The letters VBC stand for Vis Boot Club (Fish Boat Club). VBC Deurloo explicitly does not want to compete with other marinas and other harbors in the region. Our mission is to offer our members good, usable, and safe facilities at a reasonable price. We try to achieve this by, among other things, having our members carry out as much of the work on our jetties and accommodations as possible themselves. We also help each other out when necessary with problems, for example, with the boat. This is good for your wallet and for building relationships! (Although good spots are only shared sparingly, but a true fisherman will understand this.) We are therefore primarily looking for new members who not only ask what the association can offer them, but also what they can and want to offer the association.
