About Rock Island State Park Dock
This is a nice dock where you may tie up your boat. Beautiful location; it's worth the mile-long hike to the lighthouse from here. The restrooms are up the hill. Every couple of hours, ferry traffic might be quite heavy. Only cash or checks accepted. Credit cards are not accepted. The approach is deep until you reach the dock. Because the dock's end is relatively shallow toward the southeast, stay within 25 feet of it. The depth at the end is 7 to 9 feet in low water years, although it shallows to the northeast end of the dock. Considering that this is a business dock with a massive overhanging timber at the top, large fenders or a substantial fenderboard are advised. Must-see location; worth it despite a slightly challenging entry and exit. However, avoid parking on the ferry spot. If there is room, you can park inside the boat house. It's certainly worth the walk to the historic lighthouse. The bottom is covered in rocks south of the dock in six feet of water. Anchorage bottom at the SSE of the dock is sandy. Dockage is free during the day. There's not much room.
