The waterway is located 1 mile south of the federally maintained ocean inlet (Carolina Beach), 10 miles south of Wrightsville Beach, NC, and 10 miles north of Southport, NC, Bald Head Island, and Cape Fear River ocean inlet. Downtown Wilmington is a quick trip, only 10 miles up the Cape Fear River.
