Hawks Landing Restaurant, located 1/4 mile west on Boblo Drive, has a gasoline pump, propane, meals, and light supplies. 231-634-7375. Jay Beugly, Harbormaster +1 (419) 651-1039 Pointe aux Pins, located one mile west of the marina, features a tiny bathing beach, a post office, a municipal office, the island's functioning 1-room school, a church, and a fire brigade. Island events are advertised on bulletin boards at Hawks Landing and the township office. Boblo has a winter population of around 70 and a summer population of almost 1,000. Off season: +1 810-234-0696 Operating Season:Seasonal 5/31 - 9/1. It is open but unattended in the off season. There are public restrooms and a telephone. Pay envelopes are in the box on the side of the tiny building near the pier. The marina charges regular Michigan marina rates. The canal entering the marina is approximately 40 feet wide and located at the east end of the riprap jetty. At night, a flashing green light illuminates the eastern end of the jetty. Keep an eye out for ferry traffic heading to and from Cheboygan. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, a giant American flag is flown on a pole in the marina parking lot and may be seen in clear weather. When the ferry docks in the island marina, maneuvering space is decreased. There is no gasoline dock; instead, a local store has a gas pump. In the south channel between Bois Blanc Island and the mainland, the current normally flows from west to east at around 2 knots. No diesel. The gas station at Hawks Landing is situated 1/4 mile west on Boblo Drive. In October and November, Hawks Landing is only accessible on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They'll close for the winter at the end of November. Make sure to bring your own container.
