About Burravoe
Burravoe is located at the southeastern tip of Yell. Thanks to its excellent protection, it has been used as a harbor since the 16th century. Caution is advised when approaching Burravoe, as there are strong tides and dangerous rocks in the approach area, and the harbor entrance has a 2.5 m bar. Excellent facilities are available in a distinctive utility building, roofed by an old lifeboat. There are toilets, showers, and a laundry service with coin-operated machines. Water and electricity are available, and diesel is available upon request. The Old Haa Museum is open from May to September and has a fascinating exhibition. It also serves an excellent cup of tea with delicious homemade cakes.
