About Penzance Harbour

Penzance Harbour – A Sheltered Stop for Cruisers, Trailers, and Scilly-bound Voyagers Penzance Harbour, operated by Cornwall Harbours, is a versatile and well-maintained port on the south-western tip of Cornwall. Its position makes it a popular call for vessels cruising the English Channel or heading to the Isles of Scilly, offering a mix of facilities for both sea-going yachts and trailer-launched craft. The harbour comprises a wet dock with a tidal gate, several drying walls, and slipway access for smaller vessels. Though it remains an active commercial port, visiting leisure craft are welcome and well supported, especially with advance communication. 🛥️ Visiting Craft and Facilities Wet Dock Berthing: Accessible from 2 hours before to 1.5 hours after high water. Visiting yachts can berth in the floating dock by prior arrangement. The area can be busy with fishing and commercial traffic—timing and coordination are key. Slipway Access: Located beside Albert Pier, the slipway allows for the launching of trailer boats, jet skis, kayaks, paddleboards, and small craft. Trailer & Vehicle Parking: A boat park near the harbour provides space for parking and launching. Booking and fee details can be obtained from the Harbour Office or the seasonal slipway attendant. Short-Term Mooring: A pontoon is available on the slipway for crew and supply transfer, with a 30-minute time limit. Onshore Services: Fresh water and electrical hook-up points at berths, showers and toilet facilities near the Harbour Office. Fuel and Supplies: Available nearby; Penzance is ideal for provisioning before onward journeys to the Scillies. Penzance is not a full-service marina, but it delivers essential services in a central location, with direct access to the town’s shops, rail station, and maritime infrastructure. 📡 Communication & Booking All visiting vessels—particularly those seeking to enter the wet dock—should contact the Harbour Office in advance to check availability and coordinate docking. 📡 VHF Channel: 12 📞 Phone: +44 1736 366113 📧 Email: penzanceharbour@cornwall.gov.uk 🌐 Website: www.cornwallharbours.co.uk
