About Mousehole Harbour
Tucked away just 2.5 nautical miles southwest of Penzance, Mousehole Harbour is one of Cornwall’s most picturesque and storied ports. Surrounded by traditional granite quays and a village rich in heritage, this small working harbour welcomes recreational boaters while maintaining its deep connection to local fishing life. 🌊 Harbour Overview Mousehole Harbour is a Trust Port managed by the Mousehole Harbour Authority. While primarily supporting the local fleet and traditional fishing vessels, it also opens its gates to visiting craft on a limited basis. The twin stone quays—North and South—form a historic protective barrier that shelters vessels from the prevailing winds. Please note: the harbour dries at low tide, so it is only suitable for vessels with bilge keels or drying legs. 🛥️ Moorings & Facilities Visitor Moorings: Limited space available. Visiting vessels should contact the Harbour Master in advance to enquire about availability. Fresh Water: Available at select points along the quay. Showers & Toilets: Public toilets are located on North Quay (year-round) and South Quay (summer only). Showers are coin-operated and available during the summer months. Slipway Access: Small boats, dinghies, kayaks, paddleboards, and jet skis may be launched from the harbour slipway. Vehicle & Trailer Parking: Available nearby in the North Quay car park (year-round) and South Quay car park (seasonal). 🐬 Local Features & Community Sandy Beaches within the harbour at low tide are perfect for families. The Mousehole Rock Pool offers a safe, natural swimming area near the shore. The village features art galleries, cosy cafés, pubs, and traditional Cornish cottages. Popular events include Tom Bawcock’s Eve (December) and the iconic Mousehole Harbour Lights Festival. 📡 Contact & Communications Mousehole Harbour Authority 📧 General: mha@mouseholeharbour.co.uk 📧 Harbour Master: harbourmaster@mouseholeharbour.co.uk 📞 Landline: +44 (0)1736 732544 📱 Mobile: +44 (0)7944 372289 🌐 Website: www.mouseholeharbour.co.uk
