About Harwich Haven

⚓ Use of Berths Visiting leisure vessels up to 20 metres in length can moor at the Ha’penny Pier pontoons for a limited stay. Berths operate on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance. During busy periods, double or triple berthing may be necessary if conditions allow. Berths are organised by vessel size: outer berths are prioritised for larger boats, while inner berths are more suitable for smaller craft. Vessels must not moor in ferry or unloading areas, which are clearly marked on-site. 🧭 Pier Supervision A Pier Master is on duty daily during specific hours, including weekends and public holidays, to provide basic support, access information, and ensure proper use of facilities. 🧼 Available Facilities Toilets and showers: Access is via code provided by the Pier Master. Drinking water: Available from a tap near the pier entrance. CCTV monitoring: The berthing area is under video surveillance. After-hours access: The pontoon gate is secured and accessible by code; emergency contact information is posted at the site. 🌊 Weather Considerations In poor weather, pontoon bridges may be temporarily removed for safety reasons. During such conditions, the pier is considered closed. Skippers are advised to ensure their vessels are well-secured and fendered at all times. 🌐 International Arrivals Vessels arriving from overseas must follow UK Government travel guidance. It is mandatory to notify Border Force and make a customs declaration to HMRC National Yachtline at +44 (0)300 123 2012 before disembarking.
