Zaltbommel has a rich water history. The port has played an important role in the past, including for the transshipment of sand and gravel. Also, many beautiful ships were launched from the shipyard with a long slipway between 1882 and 1992. The port of Zaltbommel (Gelderland province) is located in the center of the Netherlands on the busy Waal.
