Odden Marina Boat Harbor Odden Marina is located by the Old Slemmestad Center, in the harbor basin where Norcem has its operations in Slemmestad. It has been many years since Norcem has had production in the plant at Slemmestad. There are currently only warehousing and logistics functions. In connection with the closure of production at Norcem, areas for housing construction were released on the east side of the harbor. The right to develop the harbor was transferred to Odden Marina Båtforening before the bankruptcy. Through a long and difficult process, they finally managed to start construction of the harbor in 2003. The harbor was ready with 85 berths until the start of the 2004 season. All berths also function as guest berths when the boat owner is out with his own boat. The plant is relatively expensive as it is exposed to the northeast (Oslo) and larger breakwater constructions were needed to create a safe harbor. The facility is financed through a cooperative and is operated by the boating association. The local business community has contributed to the establishment of information signs and trolleys in the harbor. In return, they have been allowed to present themselves on the information signs and trolleys. The design of the harbor has been done in accordance with local business interests, public transport and Odden Marina Boligsameie, in order to obtain an appropriate solution both in the short and long term.
