Located close to the mouth of the Klang River in Port Klang, RSYC is the premiere venue for competitive yachting, sail training, power boating, sea fishing and water sports in the Selangor and the Klang Valley. By road, the club can be easily accessed from Kuala Lumpur via the NKVE, the Federal Highway or the KESAS Highway. Travel time is 30 minutes from Petaling Jaya and 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur Centre. There is a direct KTM rail connection from Central Station to Port Klang station, which is less than a kilometre from RSYC.

Our traditional style club house and terrace has fine river views, with local and international boats regularly passing by. We are open to members of the public and the club house provides an ideal venue for weddings, parties and corporate functions, either on the terrace area or in our Kenaga Room. RSYC catering serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and can provide a wide variety of cuisine for group bookings. We also offer a bar, pool and wi-fi in all areas, and comprehensive facilities for boat storage, boat maintenance, launching and on the water pontoons.

Although we are the oldest yacht club in the country, RSYC is young at heart and constantly attracting new members, including families, young people and businesses. Please do come for a visit any day of the week.

In the tranquil canal behind Pulau Indah, this marina offers 120 berths. It was one of several marinas established by the government to encourage recreational yachting. It has been abandoned since its start, however it has lately been repurposed into the Peninsular Sailing Club Selangor.

The Marine Department built and manages the facility, and security officers enable visiting yachts to berth inside for free for a few days while recording all of your information.

There are two causeway bridge that will stop you to go up the river to Kuching and anchor in the middle of the town.

Our standard berths range in size from 30ft to 70ft and are located at Rows A, B and C of the marina. Fresh water supply is available. Power provision is a single-phase 240-Volt 60-Amp supply for boats below 70 feet (visitors must provide hose and cabling for water and electricity). Vessels may move to lay-by berthing for the pump out service.

The marina has 10 stern to-berths for superyachts ranging in size from 80ft to 180ft. Fresh water supply is available. Power provision is 3-phase 440-Volt 100-Amp (visitors must provide hose and cabling for water and electricity). Pump out service for black water discharge at berth. 

The lay by area has a supply of fresh water and pump-out service for black water discharge. Power provision is a single-phase 220-Volt 63-Amp supply.
 
Located adjacent to the marina, the dry berths area can accommodate a small number of boats up to 30-feet. Launching and retrieving is via ramp located at the breakwater near Magellan Sutera Hotel, utilising a Massey Furguson tractor-pull with trailers to be provided by club members. Boats and trailers are thoroughly rinsed with fresh water prior to being towed to the dry berth area.

As the marina is often at full capacity, visiting yachtsmen are advised to enquire in advance to ensure the availability of a berth.

The Lumut International Yacht Club is located on the bay. It offers a fine view on the surrounding areas. Yachts can berth at the new International Yacht Club Marina or anchor off for a small charge to use their facilities. You can sail up on the Dingding river to Kampong Bahru
The Lumut Waterfront is a recently new build park on the north side of the little town of Lumut, next to the Lumut is the International Yacht Club or marina Wing.

There are limited number of moorings to the northeast The club is just east of the main town and convenient for shopping and port clearances. The club no longer supplies fuel in any quantity but can be brought in from outside in cans. Further up the river on the right tributary before the bridge is a local fuel boat tied alongside about 500 metres before the private commercial shipyard. Larger quantities of fuel are sold here for powerboats.

Just south of Penang’s 1st Bridge is the unpretentious Jabatan Laut (Marine Department) government-run public facility with 35 berths for vessels up to 12 metres.

Coming from the south, after the new bridge turn into the Pulau Jerejak channel and keep an eye for the Komptar cylindrical tower block in the distance. You won’t see the marina until you’re nearly on top of it because another jetty building with a blue roof obscures it.

Marina Batu Uban is one of the few successful marinas built and operated by Malaysia’s Marine Department, but has very few available berths for visiting yachts. There is no breakwater so it’s open to wind, wave and vessel wake from the east.

Anchoring off in the channel in 8 metres is fine, but dinghy access to the docks does incur a small fee. Best to contact rosziyana@marine.gov.my in advance for a berth or for approval to anchor off.

Just north, the 1st Penang Bridge has short air height of approximately 6 metres inshore, so passing this close inside to go north is not possible. Best to schlep back south around Pulau Jerejak then north, unless you time it for high tide. At any other tide best to trust someone with local knowledge to draw you a mud map to safely navigate the shallow banks between the marina and the highest span mid way.

Guaranteed safe depth across the mud banks close in near the bridge is debatable, even among the locals.

Telaga Harbour Marina

Berths for boats of all sizes. It can get rolly when there is some weather and your boat will buck around against the dock. The more expensive marina for the area but has great facalties. Has a pool bar and cheap afternoon beers, restaurants and bar at the entrance and also a hotel in the main building. A well stocked chandlery that is the normal prices of a chandlery. The marina accepts packages for vessels that are at anchor and not in the facility, they charge only a small storage fee.

Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal is a one-stop shop for port, customs, immigration, marine, storage, and port shipping services. Located near the eastern entrance to the Johor Straits, it is the finest spot to clear customs and immigration before continuing your cruise into the eastern inlands of Johor Bahru.
The most crucial element is to avoid staying in the Singapore Strait's channel separation scheme. The best method to do it is to avoid CSS completely.

Sail to a point around the 01°26.720'N, 104°03.515'E. You will notice a Roro Ferry Terminal slightly north of that spot. You should also see the CSS highlighted on the chart; it runs west on the north and east on the south. Furthermore, you can completely avoid the CSS by running between the shoals and its northern lane. At that point, the CSS will be full of ships, and your AIS will sound like a frog in a sock.
It should be noted that if you enter Singapore seas, you must have an AIS transponder activated; however, if you remain wholly in Malaysian waters, this is not required.

In any event, heading to the north side keeps you in Malaysian seas. Remember to have the Malaysian and Q flags up at this moment.

The Navionics charts show Pengerang as a town on the south coast of the Johor peninsula, which should now be on your starboard side.
When you reach 1°18.942′N, 104°9.187′E, you will turn away from the CSS and bend slightly north to travel to the north side of Pulau Tekong. This is a big, partially reclaimed island located near the mouth of the Johor Strait; it is marked but not named on the C-MAP chart. It's easy to recognize because it's large and tear-drop-shaped.

The Malaysia/Singapore border runs between this island and the Belungkor to Pengerang coast, therefore you must stick to the starboard side of the strait from there. There are shoals and fishing stakes, so don't get too close to the beach.

There is a quarantine anchorage noted on the Navionics charts at that location. Ignore it.
Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal is the closest western access point into Singapore.

There is an amazing Roro Ferry Pier floating pontoon that serves as a marina, as well as a few smaller tankers for bunker supply.

Limbongan Maju Sdn Bhd operates a ferry service to Singapore's Changi Ferry Terminal every day.

In the near future, water taxis and bumboats (ferries carrying 8-12 passengers) will run on a continuous basis between here and Singapore's Changi Point ferry terminal.

The marina isn't very old and is incomplete, but it is already disintegrating.   Like a lot of Malaysian marinas, it was poorly designed and the breakwater does not do it's intended job.   The piles have ten inch spaces between them which allows the wash from fast ferries, or sea swell to enter and causes severe rolling of any boats tied up inside.   Attempts to block the gaps in the piles have failed.

Although the water is fairly clear and I could easily see my keel, rudder and propeller, there is a lot of floating rubbish - plastic bags, bottles, timber and such like.  The aforementioned gaps in the piles act like a strainer, allowing water out yet retaining the rubbish in the marina.

There are a few finger pontoons but they are usually occupied by long term 'residents.'   Visiting boats tie up alongside the curved pontoon which is on the inner side of the breakwater.  There are few cleats!  Most boats tie to loops of rope which are affixed to the pontoon edge.

The office is the red roofed, single storey building to the right of the Waterfront Hotel (which also has a marina.....expensive.....and no yachts at the time of my visit).  The staff speak English and are friendly and helpful.   There is a small cafe, open at lunch time and also a laundry. 

Nearby is a shopping mall with various shops and a 'Giant' supermarket - just leave the marina and walk across the park and you are there.  It's less than five minutes walk.  Town is a 15 minute walk away and has hardware stores, mini-markets and a host of duty-free outlets.  Labuan is a duty free port, so stock up here with alcohol and tobacco.  There are numerous eateries just a street or two back from the front - all serve good food.

The ferry terminal has the usual offices of Immigration and Customs.  The harbour master is in the Marine Department adjacent to the ferry terminal.

You can anchor in Victoria Harbour but the holding is unreliable due to the amount of plastic bags on the sea bed.
