About PORT OF ROATAN

The Port of Roatan is one of the two major ports of call in Roatan, Honduras. The port covers an area of about 6.5 acres and can accommodate up to three ships at a time. It is managed by Royal Caribbean and ITM Group, who are partners under a subsidiary. The port started operating in late 2008 and is located in the Town Center of Coxen Hole, which is the capital of Roatan, also known as "el pueblo" (the town). The Port of Roatan is the arrival point for Norwegian, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean ships that visit Honduras. It can accommodate three cruise ships simultaneously, with one alongside and two in Anchorage. About 580 thousand passengers visit Roatan through the port every year, arriving at approximately 170 cruise ships that use Roatan as a port of call. The water depth at the port is around 12 meters (39 ft), and the port agent is Anacaribe, who has a long-standing tradition as the port agent for cruise lines calling the Port of Roatan. If you're visiting Roatan, make sure to get your passport stamped at the official passport stamp booth. Ensure it's an official immigration entry, or your passport may become invalid.

Barefoot Cay boutique resort and Marina

Barefoot Cay is a beautiful island that forms a part of a chain of cays located off the southern coast of Roatan, between French Harbour and Brick Bay. The private islet is situated only 85 feet away from the main island, but it feels like a world away. To get there, you can take a step-on pontoon passenger ferry that will take you across the narrow channel in just a few seconds. This will bring you to a lush sanctuary where you can escape from everything else. Life on the cay is peaceful and tranquil, and it feels like a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Beyond the cay lies the stunning Caribbean Sea with its vibrant coral reefs and clear blue waters. The ocean is teeming with life, inviting you to explore all that it has to offer. Located at a convenient south-central location on Roatan, this marina basin boasts sturdy concrete construction and stout cleats. It also features wooden docks for additional moorage and tying tenders, with a draft allowance of up to 9 ft. Along with a boat launch ramp, the marina offers fresh water, shore power with 120V 30A & 240V 50A service, and 100A service available in select locations. There's also a nearby fuel dock and Immigration and Port Captain clearing services. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for all visitors, and there are restrooms with showers and laundry services (priced per item). With 24-hour security on site, you can rest easy knowing your vessel is safe and secure. If you need fuel delivery, simply provide 24-hour prior notice and it will be arranged for you. To reach the marina, the easiest way is through the Brick Bay entrance. You should take a turn to the east as shown on the chart below. The coordinates are also provided for your convenience. When you enter, make sure to keep the outer stake close to starboard. Then take the next two stakes to starboard, which are approximately 50 ft away. Please note that there is deep water to the marina. While it is possible to access the marina from the French Harbor entrance, we recommend using the Brick Bay entrance due to a shoal northeast of Barefoot Cay. Please be aware that we only recommend making approaches during daylight hours. Additionally, we prefer that you only approach when we're able to send a guide to pilot you through the channel. Guides are available between 8am and 4pm when arranged in advance.
