About Port of Health Villefranche - Health
The port of Villefranche-Santé is a small sheltered port that can accommodate around fifty ships from April to October. This port, managed directly by the departments of the departmental council, has the particularity of welcoming more than 200,000 cruise passengers each year (222,671 passengers in 2019). Located to the north of the citadel, the Port de la Santé welcomes fishing boats, a few pleasure craft at the quayside, but above all the shuttles from the ships at anchor. Two French Navy chests (10,000 and 35,000 tonnes) are anchored in the bay to facilitate the stopover of cruise ships, which are placed by a pilot from the port of Nice. Arrival in the harbor by sea is a magical moment, particularly appreciated by passengers. A reception quay in the security zone and a ferry terminal make it possible to embark or disembark in good conditions. The proximity to the SNCF train station, accessible on foot, offers an additional advantage to this stopover.
