About Port de Couëron
Welcome to the Nantes region! This grounding port is the first port in the Nantes conurbation that we meet when going up the Loire. Nearby shops and superb walks along the recently landscaped banks, not to mention the magnificent Audubon Marsh nature reserve . Couëron, a small town of 20,000 inhabitants, is located on the north bank of the Loire, just 10 minutes from Nantes. The development of the banks of the Loire and the creation of many public facilities promote a new harmony between the inhabitants and the river. The history of the city was modeled along the banks of the Loire and is linked to the activity of the treatment of lead. Symbol of this industrial past, the Tréfimétaux lead tower proudly sits over the city. Practical information: As the port is subject to siltation , all the pontoons and boats run aground at low tide (crutching not necessary). To facilitate traffic in the port, it is advisable to carry out maneuvers during tides with a coefficient greater than 80, at high tide.
