About Bassin du Midi-The Sète marina
Located along the Mediterranean coast, between Marseille and Barcelona, the port of Sète is a hub of trade on a European, Mediterranean and global scale. Owned by the Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region since 2007, the port is operated by a delegated authority: the Port de Sète Sud de France establishment for the management of its three activities of commerce, fishing and pleasure. Located in the center of the Gulf of the Lion, the port of Sète-Frontignan has major assets; geographic and natural, but also human. Thanks to its geographic singularity, its ability to adapt and its multimodality, the port of Sète is a human structure, close to its customers and which retains the capacity and experience to handle all types of traffic. One of the competitive advantages of the port of Sète-Frontignan is its multimodal infrastructures which offer first-class connectivity, in road, rail and also river connections. In 2019, more than 4.3 million tonnes of goods passed through the commercial port (bulk, liquid, rolling freight). The port of Sète is also the leading French port for passengers to Morocco (regular car ferry lines) and has considerable advantages for cruise stopovers (115,000 passengers in 2019), Its geographical location and its multi-modality are major assets: Sète is quickly connected to the motorway networks (Spain, Italy, northern Europe), but also to the rail networks, with 42 km of intra-port network, as well as by the direct link with the Rhône canal.
