About Club Nautico Cartagena
Nice marina with an anchorage just off the docks and all boats are Med tied. To enter the bay there are 2 entrances. The southern one is safer especially if it's your first time as there is an underwater wall on the northern channel. Upon arrival in Cartagena you must contact the Cartagena Port Control on VHF 14/16. If you need assistance call the Guard Costa (Coast Guard) on VHF 13/14/16. We called the marina directly when no one answered the radio and proceeded in. This was pre-Covid. It is currently closed to anyone not from Colombia.(2020) John the manager is as accommodating as they come and bilingual. There is no customs office to go and check in, they come to you at the marina. You must use an agent. Check with the Club Nautico manager office if you need help. There is some surge and boats on the outside are more affected by boats passing by. Small chandleries nearby and you can get most anything fixed if you ask the other cruisers. There is a large supermarket one block away, a few restaurants same street, and cabs cruise by frequently. They are cheap but ask price first. Restaurant and laundry facilities can be used even if you don't stay there. We used the Wifi while ordering food and drinks on the back deck. It's within walking distance to the Old City which should not be missed! Consider leaving your boat here and rent an Air BnB in town. Many people anchor and dock here for years as once you get to know Cartagena it's hard to leave.
