About Djen-djen Port Jijel
The Port of Djen Djen is the largest port in Algeria and this place among the largest port works in the Mediterranean. Located in the Wilaya of Jijel in eastern Algeria, it enjoys a strategic position less than 50 miles from the sea route linking the Suez Canal to the Strait of Gibraltar, this position gives it a privileged role. The Port of Djen Djen covers an area of 210 hectares, with a draft of up to -18.20m. With a draft of up to -18.20m, the Port of Djen Djen is among the largest port works in the Mediterranean. The Container Terminal, which is being completed with a capacity of 2 million TEU/year, will be the future of transshipment in Algeria, its role will be to absorb a large volume of containerized traffic nationally and will play an essential role in the Mediterranean. The imminent advent of the penetrating motorway linking the Port directly to the capital of the highlands over 110 km, will allow a faster flow of goods, and will consolidate it in its position as national leader.
