About Bandy Creek Boat Harbour, Esperance

The Bandy Creek Boat Harbour is located approximately 10 kilometres to the east of Esperance. Esperance is a large coastal town located 720 kilometres east-southeast of Perth. There are hundreds of islands and reefs to explore. Common water activities include fishing, diving, surfing, sailing, kite surfing, boating and watching marine birds and seals. Charter boats are available for eco tours, fishing and diving tours. The boat harbour comprises a commercial area on the east side with 28 boat pens, a jetty and a landbacked wharf. Also provided are fuelling and maintenance facilities, a service wharf and public toilets. The west side, commonly known as the recreational side, has 20 Mediterranean type boat pens and a walkway. Adjacent to the recreational side boat pens is a two lane boat ramp, Summys Park and public toilets. Within Summys Park is a public use barbeque and a fish cleaning table facility. The Esperance Deep Sea Angling Club is also worth visiting. Although easily accessible by water, the two sides of the harbour are several kilometres from each other by road. Boating facility fees Fees are payable for the use of maritime facilities throughout the state. It is a condition of use that all users comply with DoT’s gas, electrical, insurance requirements and terms and conditions. Vessels with a draft greater than 3 metres should contact DoT’s Esperance office to assist with advice on current depth. Dredging takes place approximately every two years. The average depth of water in the area of the commercial pens on the east is nominally 3.5 metres. The average depth of water at the recreational pens on the west of the boat harbour is nominally 2.0 metres, although this increases to 4.2 metres at the outer pens.
