About Sennen Cove Harbour

Sennen Cove Harbour – A Small, Historic Fishing Harbour at Land’s End Nestled just over a mile from Land’s End, Sennen Cove Harbour is a charming, historically-rich port that primarily serves local fishermen and small pleasure craft. Operated as a Trust Port by a board of Harbour Commissioners, the harbour remains functional and welcoming—ideal for experienced yachties and adventurous small-boat users. 🛥️ Harbour Features & Layout Working Fleet: Home to a handful of commercial fishing boats and pleasure-fishing craft, up to around 5 m in length. Slipway & Haul-out: Equipped with an electric winch and beach slipway. Local fishermen commonly use a tractor for hauling boats—visiting sailors can request assistance in emergencies through the Harbour Office. Small-Craft Launching: Trailer boats (up to 6 m), kayaks, and paddleboards can be launched during appropriate tides. Jet-skis aren’t allowed . Harbour Limitations: The entrance is hazardous—local knowledge is essential. Approaching too close without coordination isn't recommended. Harbour Drying Tide: The harbour dries significantly at low tide—only suitable if your vessel has bilge keels or drying legs . 💰 Fees & Amenities Visiting Boat Fee. Car Park: A sizeable “pay & display” car park on the harbour crest; proceeds fund the harbour’s upkeep. Facilities: Public toilets open year-round; note they are managed separately. There are no showers, shore power, or fuel onsite 📡 Nearby & Support Services Emergency Assistance: Coastguard Falmouth is the main marine safety point—contact via VHF Ch. 16 or by phone to 01326 317575 Parking Enforcement: Parking is ticketed by local agents; follow directions carefully to avoid fines Caution with Nature: Strong Atlantic swells and currents can roll over harbour walls during storms—timing and safety matter. 📍 Quick Practical Tips Approach slowly and with local guidance—conditions can be tricky. Check tide charts carefully—the harbour dries out significantly at low tide. Trailer services are available. Parking is generous but ticketed—avoid penalties by displaying payment correctly. Take essential services in Penzance or Sennen village—this is a working port, not a tourist marina.
