About Zaltbommelse Watersportvereniging de Golfbreker
Zaltbommel has a rich water history. The port has played an important role in the past, including for the transshipment of sand and gravel. Also, many beautiful ships were launched from the shipyard with a long slipway between 1882 and 1992. The port of Zaltbommel (Gelderland province) is located in the center of the Netherlands on the busy Waal. Therefore, it is an ideal stopping point for yachtsmen who are looking for a safe and quiet place to spend the night or more. It is right in the center of the historic fort with all the facilities, shops, restaurants etc. to reach. In addition, the area has a lot to offer and beautiful cycling trips can be made. Facilities for commercial shipping and large passenger ships have been built. As of 2020, boats (up to 110 m in length, 2,500 tons) can moor at the 9 individual berths.
