About Sutherland Dock Berths
Berths are available for boats to 80′ in the protected waters of Sutherland Dry Dock. Commissioned when the adjacent, convict-dug, Fitzroy Dock became too small, Sutherland Dock was completed in 1890 and for a short time was the largest dry dock in the world. Integral to Cockatoo’s long history of ship building, it now resumes it’s maritime purpose with floating pontoons, complete with power and water, providing sheltered marina berthing. Free transfers to Cockatoo Island are included with all berthing contracts. Berthing is available for vessels to 50m on Sutherland Wharf. Cockatoo Island is just 3km to the Harbour Bridge and closer to locations such as Darling Harbour and North Sydney. Our free customer tender service makes access simple from a range of locations around the harbour. Additional hardstand storage is available.
